John Bushell has achieved wide acclaim for his innovative and distinctive commercial and mixed-use buildings and complex master plans in the UK and around the world. He is currently leading the design of a mixed-use master plan in Bermondsey that will regenerate a brownfield site and provide more than 1,500 highly-sustainable new homes, with three acres of public and play space, 141 new trees and no private cars on site. The development will be built to stretching net zero carbon, zero waste and biodiversity goals.
An advocate for architectural reuse, John has led some of the firm’s most important retrofit projects in London. Unilever House preserved the building’s historic exterior while completely renovating the interior and improving environmental performance. At South Bank Tower, a 1970’s office has been transformed into a world-class mixed-use development. John is currently leading the design of 81 Newgate Street in the City of London, which will transform an inefficient 1980’s office into a sustainable mixed-use development.
