Prior to becoming Leader of the Council, Cllr Aiken’s Cabinet roles included Children and Young People, Parking, Community Protection and Premises Management. She introduced Westminster’s ‘Your Choice’ programme which resulted in a decrease in youth and gang violence throughout Westminster and launching ‘Breaking the Silence’, Westminster’s acclaimed domestic abuse strategy. Cllr Aiken is Executive Member for Schools and Children’s Services at London Councils.
