Responding to the latest inflation figures, Claire Harding, Research Director, Centre for London said:
“The combination of the UK economy heading into choppy waters and surging inflation will worry many Londoners. Already, households are struggling with soaring costs for essentials whilst their pay packets fail to keep up.
Those on the lowest incomes are being hit the hardest, and many face awful daily choices as to what to sacrifice in order to pay for food and heating. Even further rises in the cost of living are going to see greater pressure on the Government to do more to help people cope with surging prices, especially those in and at risk of falling into poverty.”ENDS
