Head-to-Head: Who Should be Mayor of London?

This event has already taken place.

Join Centre for London with partner the Evening Standard to host a major public debate between Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan, chaired by Newsnight’s Kirsty Wark.

Since it was established in 2000, the role of London’s Mayor has become one of the most high profile in the country. Their leadership will set the tone as to what London will achieve over the next four years, and how. Housing, prosperity, the cost of living, transport, communities, infrastructure, healthcare, policing, London’s place in the UK – these are the issues which will shape the vote.

This head-to-head debate will give the public the opportunity to see the two top-polling candidates discuss the nuances of their policy positions, shortly before votes are cast on 5 May.

This event is now fully booked, but you can still be part of the conversation. The debate will be broadcast by London Live, and you can tweet your comments using #ESMayoral. If you have a question for the candidates in the run up to the debate, tweet @centreforlondon.
